My name is Isabelle Orsler and I am 16 years old. I am a new resident of Comox BC. This is my first year of being a part of the Ride Like a Girl program and I very excited to ride lots, learn and improve my riding.
I started riding bikes when I was five years old and started racing when I was ten. I have raced in Alberta for the last six years competing in Alberta Cups and Provincials in XC Mtb and Cyclocross. I have also been racing for Team Alberta at Nationals and Canada Cups.
About a year and a half ago I injured my back which meant I was unable to ride my bike or train properly quite a while. I lost lots of strength, mobility and confidence in my riding. I am now working on rebuilding all of these things and the Ride like a Girl program is a fantastic opportunity to help me through this. One of my goals is to get more comfortable with jumping and dropping. I also want to get more comfortable with going fast downhill and down technical stuff. I am very excited to have be given this awesome opportunity.
