Enduro

Athlete match: Violet Cleland

I am an enduro racer hailing from Whistler BC. I grew up riding in the WORCA dirt camps were I started to love riding. When I was in highschool I took part in the North shore race league and it sparked my interest in racing. For the next few years (until grade 11) I focused on racing XC with the BC team, and it is where I first was apart of the RLG program by being mentored by sandra Walter.

I then found that the technical aspect of riding suited me more (and I enoyed it more), so I made the switched to enduro.

Last year, was my first year traveling over seas where I did the European back of the EWS. I had a pretty successful year, achieving 2 top 20s at the North American EWS and 2nd place at Nationals!

This year I will be staying in North America, with the focus on becoming a “smarter” racer and in hopes of getting a few podiums.

Along with racing, the past five years I have been at UVic doing a degree in kinesiology in hopes of becoming a practitioner and continue to work with athletes.

I am excited to encourage the next crowd of up coming shredders make their mark in the MTB world
