Tayte Proulx-Royds is from Kelowna, BC and found her passion on two wheels in multiple cycling disciplines, which has resulted in a lot of success in XC, CX, Enduro, DH and Slopestyle. This is Tayte's 2nd year with Ride Like a Girl, and this season she will be partnered with former national team DH racer and MTB Coach Crystal Tonwsend.
Some of Tayte's goals for this season is to do as many races as I can, whether it is XC, Cyclocross, Slopestyle, Enduro or Downhill. "Racing is super fun for me, whether they are local races or provincial/national championships, I just want to race. This year I also want to travel more and explore new places on my bike. But most of all, I love the process of training and I always look forward to training hard, so I stay fit! " Other goals are to race both XCO and CX Canadian National Championships; try new trails around the world, and share my adventures through social media. Tayte really hopes to make it to the world cup level in XCO and CX one day and become a professional cyclist!
For many years Tayte has given back to the community by Volunteering to help kids get on bikes and ride through the Pedal Power program. This season she is a ride mentor and leader with the Trail Ninja Academy and plans to learn more about coaching with her mentor Crystal Townsend. Tayte has many other passions and love being a part of the Telemark racers and Biathlon team and being with her two dogs Ruby and Maggie and camping with her family. This year Tayte will be competing in first year in U15 and is very excited to be part of Ride Like a Girl again!
