Athlete Match: Daiya Schlossberger
Hi, I'm Holly! I'm a cyclist and coach from Victoria, BC, Canada. I began my career as a triathlete, racing at the junior elite and elite levels internationally, before switching to full-time cycling in 2018. I raced professionally on the road and cyclocross circuits with InstaFund Pro Cycling. While racing for InstaFund, I competed with my teammates on the road across North America and Europe, getting the opportunity to race in a couple of World Tour Events in France and Spain. On the cyclocross bike, I love the local cycling scene with the Cross on the Rock series. One of my favourite racing experiences was getting to race and finish on the podium at home in Victoria for Cyclocross National Championships in 2022.
Currently, I have stepped away from racing while recovering from an injury but during this time have discovered my passion for coaching. I have an undergraduate degree in Biology and Psychology with a focus in neurobiology, which has influenced my approach to performance and athlete development. I recently achieved my NCCP Competition Development Certification and I am currently working with a wide range of amazing athletes competing across multiple cycling disciplines. Seeing them achieve their goals, including three national championship wins this past season, has been so inspiring after witnessing the hard work and dedication that they bring to their training every day.
I'm very excited to join the Ride Like a Girl Mentorship team again and help guide and motivate young riders to achieve their goals!
Is there anything in this upcoming season you are especially excited about?
This season I have a couple of exciting projects coming up! I will be co-leading the men's and women's Junior National Teams at Tour de L'Abitibi this July.
