Ride Like a Girl

A place for mentorship, community connection, and opportunities to grow for young female mountain bike athletes in British Columbia.

This is us.

Ride Like a Girl (RLG) is a British Columbia–based not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting female-identifying youth cyclists athletes aged 13-17 inclusively through mentorship. The program welcomes athletes across all cycling disciplines who are preparing to race in the upcoming season.

Each year, RLG supports up to 25 young riders from across BC by connecting them with experienced female cyclists who serve as mentors within their chosen discipline. Through shared rides, guidance, and ongoing support, mentors help athletes build confidence, develop skills, and work toward their individual riding goals.

RLG offers an Ambassador Program to cyclists who have completed three years in the program and want to stay actively involved while further developing leadership and communication skills.

“I get to give back to the sport I love and build rapport with the next generation of leaders and champions, and they get to hopefully learn from my experiences. Plus, we get to ride bikes together, which is always fun!”

— Sandra Walter, RLG Mentor and World Cup cross-country mtb racer
