Lorrie Mansey

Enduro & Gravel

Athlete match: Stella Weckend

Hi! I'm Lorrie. I grew up in the Cowichan Valley spending all of my time riding horses until one fateful day in 2020 when I walked into a local bike shop, Cowichan Cycles. Since then, it’s pretty much been all about bikes. I ride mostly enduro and gravel, although I often take my enduro bike for an XC pedal or a DH lap. I particularly like steep, raw trails and getting my tires off the ground. I’m a sucker for a good sufferfest; I completed the BC Bike Race in 2024 which piqued an interest in stage racing. I race a few Island Cup Enduros each year and any women’s race I can get to. I recently discovered cyclocross racing and have had wayyy too much fun at some of the Cross on the Rock races. Since BC Bike Race (a transformative, humbling experience) I’ve spent a lot of time analyzing and honing my race prep, training and nutrition; it’s showing, as I’m also spending more time on the podium!

I’m deeply involved in my community; I’m the ED and a trailbuilder for the Cowichan Trail Stewardship Society, a Director for Mountain Bike BC, and a proud core teammate of Rowdy Race Club. Rowdy was founded in early 2025 with the goal of building a community of women that like to send and race bikes. Nothing beats the power and energy of women and girls working together.

If I’m not biking I can be found surfing, hiking, running, reading, or making art and music. Or baking, or picking up some random craft... I am a chronic (and happy) hobby-ist!

What are looking forward to this season?

I am racing the Trans-BC Enduro this year and am so excited! I always look forward to the women's enduros as well. Mostly, I'm just perpetually stoked for laps with the gals.
